2023 Deck the Door Contest

RULES & INSTRUCTIONS

 

The Bristol Christmas Festival Committee is excited to bring back the Deck the Door Contest to the Residents and Businesses of Bristol! Here are the dates you need to know:

 

SUBMISSION DEADLINE:  Wednesday, December 6, 2023

JUDGING PERIOD:  Thursday, December 7 - Friday, December 15, 2023

WINNERS ANNOUNCED:  Sunday, December 17, 2023

 

 Get your garland, lights, and tinsel ready...from the top of the porch to the top of the wall, decorate, decorate, decorate all!

 

2023 theme: Holiday Movie Magic! **participation in the theme is not mandatory for entering, but encouraged**

 

Please read the following RULES & INSTRUCTIONS and feel free to contact the Christmas Committee if you have any questions, by reaching out to us on our Facebook page. 

 

 

1. Have Fun!

2. Participation is open to all residents and businesses within the boundaries of the Town of Bristol.

3. Participation and entry is free.

4. Committee members of the Bristol Christmas Festival Committee are not eligible to win.

5. Applications must be received by no later than 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.

6. Judging will be focused on either the yard or the door depending on which category you enter (via the Google Form)

7. Judging will be done from outside the home.

8. All entries agree to have their home photographed by the Bristol Christmas Festival Committee photographer and posted on the Committee website. 

9. Participants agree there will be no compensation for any postings or publications.

10. Judging criteria will include the following a) creativity; b) holiday spirit;  c) innovation;                   d) uniqueness

11. Judging will be done from Thursday, December 7, 2023 through Friday, December 15, 2023, from 6:00pm-9:00pm.

12. All decorations, lights etc. need to be displayed in their entirety during the time when judging will take place (Thursday, December 7, 2023 through Friday, December 15, 2023, from 6:00pm-9:00pm)

13. No additional lights, decorations etc. can be added after the Judging period has begun

14. Voting for the People’s Choice will be on the Bristol Christmas Festival Committee Facebook Page will be Monday, December 11, 2023 through Friday, December 15, 2023 until 8:00 pm. Judging will be based on the number of “Likes” received. 

15. Winners will be announced in-person during the Snowflake Raffle on Sunday, December 17, 2023. 

16. Winners receive a yard sign to be proudly displayed in their yard, a year's worth of bragging rights, PLUS a 2023 Official Ornament, and a $25 gift certificate to a local Bristol business.
